POLITICAL RED HERRINGS

Certain abduction and sex abuse cases seem to garner little interest with law enforcement. Effectively allowing the investigations to grow cold, as in the case of Johnny Gosch. Johnny Gosch was one of the first missing children to be featured on milk cartons. The then 12-year-old paperboy was kidnapped from West Des Moines, IA 25 years ago. Paul Bonnaci, a victim-witness in the "Franklin Cover Up" who was awarded $1 million for his pain and suffering, testified that he was forced to take part in “scavenger hunts” for young children under orders of some very prominent elected officials. Bonnaci testified that Johnny Gosch was one of those children. Could this be why American children who are abducted seemingly disappear off the face of the earth?

History is rife with political sex scandals like that of Former Miami City Attorney Barry Kutun and Former Florida Congressman Mark Foley. No doubt, these cases are just the tip of the iceberg. Many politicians were acutely aware of Congressman Foley’s improprieties but simply turned their heads. They said and did nothing to stop it. They systematically covered each others asses. Why? Why, when they claim to make it their “mission” to protect America’s children from predators do they so easily and constantly look the other way when it’s one of their own? Are our elected officials purposely turning a blind eye?

On January 14, 2002, Insight Magazine reported on charges leveled by one Mr. Ben Johnson against his employer Dyncorp (NYSE: DCP), a major U.S. defense contractor. Johnson charged that officials and employees of Dyncorp were engaging in perverse, illegal and inhumane behavior and were purchasing illegal weapons, women, forged passports and taking part in other immoral acts. Johnson had witnessed his supervisors and fellow employees buying 12- to 15-year-olds as sex slaves. Even more disgusting still, is the role the United States government actively plays in facilitating and financing this global sex trade. Rather than banning Dyncorp from further defense contracts, the regime of George W. Bush instead, rewards it by granting major contracts to them for many services, including civilian policing for the Iraqi war. DynCorp gets more than 96 percent of its $2 billion in annual revenue from the United States federal government. Dyncorp is also noted for generous contributions to the Republican party of up to $100,000 at a time.

Sourcewatch also had this to say about Dyncorp: Kathryn Bolkovac, a United Nations International Police Force monitor, filed a lawsuit in Britain in 2001 against DynCorp for firing her after she reported that Dyncorp police trainers in Bosnia were paying for prostitutes and participating in sex trafficking. Many of the Dyncorp employees were forced to resign under suspicion of illegal activity. But none were prosecuted, since they enjoy immunity from prosecution in Bosnia. So far, at least 13 DynCorp employees have been sent home from Bosnia to the U.S., and at least seven of them fired- for purchasing women or trafficking of women and children. Amazingly NOT ONE has ever faced criminal sanctions.

In 2003 an Associated Press article reported that UN officials were identified as using a ship charted for 'peacekeepers', to traffick young girls from Thailand to East Timor as prostitutes. In the same year it was also revealed that UN staff members were guilty of raping women on a systematic scale in Sierra Leone.

Previous to this, in early 2002 a massive pedophilia scandal within the UN was uncovered involving sexual abuse against West African refugee children in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. UPI reported that Senior U.N. officials were well aware of the widespread pedophilia. Not only did they not take action against the perpetrators, they covered up the atrocities.

Remember the United Nations (UN) is supposed to be “the good guys.” America holds senior positions in this organization.

In 2004, the Chicago Tribune exposed us to another red herring. They reported that  KBR (subsidiary of Halliburton,Vice President Dick Cheney’s Company) and Dyncorp lobbyists were working together with the Pentagon, to stall legislation that would specifically ban trafficking in humans for forced labor and prostitution by U.S. contractors.

On March 11th 2005, Representative Cynthia McKinney asked some scathing questions of Secretary Rumsfeld and General Myers about the Dyncorp scandal.

Ms. McKinney asked, "Mr. Secretary, I watched President Bush deliver a moving speech at the United Nations in September 2003, in which he mentioned the crisis of the sex trade. The President called for the punishment of those involved in this horrible business. But at the very moment of that speech, Dyncorp was exposed for having been involved in the buying and selling of young women and children. While all of this was going on, Dyncorp kept the Pentagon contract to administer the smallpox and anthrax vaccines, and is now working on a plague vaccine through the Joint Vaccine Acquisition Program. Mr. Secretary, is it [the] policy of the U.S. Government to reward companies that traffic in women and little girls?"

Donald Rumsfeld’s response: I would have to go and find the facts, but there are laws and rules and regulations with respect to government contracts, and there are times that corporations do things they should not do, in which case they tend to be suspended for some period; there are times then that the - under the laws and the rules and regulations for the - passed by the Congress and implemented by the Executive branch - that corporations can get off of - out of the penalty box if you will, and be permitted to engage in contracts with the government. They're generally not barred in perpetuity.

Does Rumsfeld and company they really think anyone or any court of law would have sympathy for DYNCORP losing it’s contract because they were participating in a child sex trafficking ring????

Rarely, victims of these sex trafficking rings do manage to escape and try and report the crimes that have been perpetrated against them they are not only stonewalled, but denied any acceptance of what has happened to them as truth. They are discredited, discraced, and threatened into silence, or as in the case with many involved with exposing the Franklin Cover Up, simply meet with untimely and unusual deaths. The death toll surrounding Franklin is fifteen.

Politicians have carefully crafted and successfully carried out a plan to divert attention from those in power that our actively, or passively taking part in the trafficking of children. They have created a sub-class of citizens which have been labeled as registered sex offenders. Pointing the finger at America’s registered sex offenders as the prime suspects. A seemingly perfect scenario which deflects attention away from the hidden political large scale scandals, while satisfying the public’s sense that our government is doing something about the problem, effectively wiping out any possibility that the proverbial finger would be pointed at those that claim to protect us.
