2007 YEAR IN REVIEW
BALL OF CONFUSION
2007 WAS AN INTERESTING YEAR TO SAY THE LEAST. BELOW WE REVIEW EVENTS INVOLVING PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS AND THE UNEQUAL APPLICATION OF LAWS WHICH ARE CLEARLY 8TH AMMENDMENT VIOLATIONS. THE ULTIMATE QUESTION IS, WHY DO SOME WALK AWAY SCOTT FREE WHILE OTHERS ARE LABELED AS SEX OFFENDERS FOR LIFE? IT IS CLEAR THERE IS NOT ONLY ALOT OF CORRUPTION BUT ALSO THAT THERE ARE TWO SEPERATE FORMS OF JUSTICE IN THIS COUNTRY AND NEITHER HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH PROTECTING THE CHILDREN. WE ALSO LEARNED THE TRAGIC TRUTH ABOUT HOW MANY CITIZENS TAKE THE LAW INTO THEIR OWN HANDS USING THE REGISTRY AS A WEAPON AND HOW OFTEN TIMES PEOPLE ARE KILLED EVEN THOSE WHO ARE TOTALLY INNOCENT.
First up we have Barry Kutun (above) age 65, Former Miami City Attorney. Kutun was charged and plead guilty to paying to have sex with a 16 year old girl at least six times and videotaping it. He was sentenced to probation and will NOT be required to register as a sex offender or live under a bridge.
Mark Foley (R) pictured above at right with John Walsh on Capitol Hill at the signing of the Adam Walsh Act. Mr. Foley was a driving force behind the bill aimed at sexual predators. It was later discovered that Mr. Foley had been having numerous graphic and sexually explicit e-mail and instant message convesrsations with multiple underage male pages (assistants). Mark Foley has NOT been charged and will NOT be found on any sex offender registry. He was forced to resign his post.
Above right, John Evander Couey a transient registered sex offender with a 22 count rap sheet spanning two decades is sentenced to die for the brutal murder of Jessica Marie Lunsford pictured at left. John Couey was a wandering, homeless, jobless registered sex offender. The girl was killed and buried alive just yards away from her home in Homosassa, FL. her father Mark Lunsford quickly became known as a child advocate pushing for what is known as "Jessica's Law" in her namesake.
Christopher Barrios Jr. age six was brutally raped and murdered accross the street from his grandmother's home by a registered sex offender with mental problems. The alleged killer was forced into the home across from Christopher just three days before his death as a direct result of Georgia's tough residency restrictions on sex offenders. Incidently, little Christopher's Dad is also on the registry for a consensual sex crime of statutory rape dating back ten years. The neighborhood was one of the few left in Georgia where registered sex offenders could legally reside.
Picture above Melissa Chandler - on September 2, 2007 two neighbors set fire to her home after it was learned that her husband was being charged (though not yet convicted) of child pornography. Melissa Chandler died in that fire as neighbors stood and watched the home burn. Melissa is survived by her son and husband.
Pictured above Matt Bandy- The Arizona teen who faced 90 years in prison after hackers invaded his home computer and uploaded child pornography. The Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas tried to conceal evidence that would have exhonnerated Matt. In the end the only thing they could charge him with was showing his Dad's Playboy magazine to a few of his friends. The county attorney to this day is still pushing to have Matt register as a sex offender which in Arizona, is a lifetime requirement.
James F. Sensenbrenner (R) Wisconsin demands a "closed door session" when deciding whether to pass the Adam Walsh Act. Voting and discussion was therefore done in secret. Closed door sessions are reserved when there is no opposition to a proposed bill. A sampling of those opposed to the Adam Walsh act included Patty Wetterling and her foundation (JWF,org) as well as the National Association Of Criminal Defense Lawyers whose membership is well over 50,000. Leaving many questioning the legality of how the AWA was passed.
Genarlow Wilson (below) spent more than 2 years in a Georgia prison for a consensual sex act with a 15 year old girl when he was just 17. He was charged with child molestation and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Public outrage and clamouring over the injustice led to Genarlow Wilson being freed. It is still being debated whether or not he will be required to register as a sex offender.
NBC Dateline's "To Catch A Predator" series with the help of PervertedJustice.com comes under heavy fire in the death of one of it's targets William Conradt Jr. in Murphy TX. The NBC financed swat team and camera crew descended upon Conradt's home when he failed to show up at the "sting house". NBC is being sued for $180 million for wrongful death. Additionally, it was discovered that nearly all of their "busts" were not able to hold up in court so the 200+ "would be" predators walked free. Is this show about public safety or ratings? You decide.
Above, a young California couple and their baby struggle to survive after the state charges the father with statutory rape and sentenced to the sex offender registry. He is subjected to community notification and residency restrictions. California has begun pouring over birth records to charge as many people as they can with statutory rape and add them to the sex offender registry.
Pictured above is Joshua Lunsford 18, brother of murdered Florida girl Jessica Lunsford and son of Child Victim Advocate Mark Lunsford pleads guilty to unlawful sexual conduct involving a 14 year old girl in Clark County Ohio. He is sentenced to sex offender probation although not required by the judge to register as a sex offender, Ohio's enactment of the Adam Walsh Act however, may put him on the registry after all for up to 15 years as a level 2 sex offender.
Pictured above: Zina Linnik of Tacoma Washington. Zina was murdered on July 4th 2007 by an alien registered sex offender with a history of mental problems and who was suppose to have been deported years ago for visa violations involving criminal sexual activity.
"Perfect Posession" Above Xavier Von Erck AKA Phillip John Eide President of Perverted Justice is sued in federal court in New Mexico for wrongfully attacking and harassing an innocent person. "Outing" him as a "wannabe pedophile" to family , neighbors, friends, and employers. The man ultimately lost his job as a result even though he was completely innocent. The Plaintiff in the case won by default as Perverted Justice members nor Von Erck bothered to show up for court. They also made no apologies for their actions.
