PERVERTED JUSTICE EXPOSED

Perverted Justice, the amateur cyber vigilante group based out of Portland Oregon, most noted for their connection to the deeply troubled NBC Dateline’s “To Catch A Predator” show, came under heavy fire last week after it was discovered and reported to the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Cyber-tipline, that it’s members were possessing and disseminating images of child pornography.

NBC Universal, which airs the Dateline show is currently facing two lawsuits for numerous improprieties. The first lawsuit filed by a former NBC producer  is seeking $1 million in damages for the wrongful termination. The firing came after the producer questioned the shows ethics and legalities. The second lawsuit seeks $100 million in damages and is brought by the surviving family members of one of the shows “targets”, who committed suicide as the NBC Dateline and Perverted Justice crew descended upon his home when he failed to show up at the “sting house”. Initial reports are that there was no valid arrest warrant for the man and one police officer on the scene was quoted as saying “that’ll make some good tv” after the man took his life.

Trouble has been circulating around the Perverted-Justice group almost from the beginning for working in tandem with NBC. They have been accused as “staging the news” and NBC reportedly pays Perverted Justice $100,000 per episode. Critics worry that this is a big incentive to do whatever possible to create a sting scenario - anything from false accusations to manufacturing evidence. Perverted Justice, is the group responsible for baiting what they term “would be child molesters” online by posing as minors. Although it is also being reported that they use real minors to lure their targets- raising concerns that Perverted Justice is exploiting minors to achieve thir goals.

 More often than not, the groups “evidence” is poorly documented, evidence is doctored, or even missing, questioning the validity of it altogether since none of the groups employees and volunteers are members of law enforcement. Additionally, they often simply do not have or are unable to obtain legal and appropriate warrants for viable arrests and convictions, meaning many of their targets are never convicted even if they are guilty. Proving that their $100,000 payday from NBC is their real number one priority, not the children they claim they want to protect.

But that’s not all. A watchdog group called corrupted-justice.com estimates that Perverted Justice and their self proclaimed band of “evil vigilantes” have wrongfully targeted well over 2,300 innocent people, and the number is growing. Many of these people are wrongfully targeted simply because they share the same or similar name to someone which the group believes to be guilty of some wrongdoing.  They also target individuals which hold views which are in any way different from theirs as well as anyone that dares to speak out against them.

The typical target, even those that are completely innocent, are slandered viciously on one or more of their websites- personal information such as photos, home address, phone numbers, names and photos of their children, and e-mail addresses are displayed and the target is denounced as a child molester and pedophile whether true or not! They have also been known to contact the targets neighbors, every living relative they can find, and employers, telling each and every one of them the target is a child molester. Phone calls are made anonymously all hours of the day and night and often contain death threats.

Amazingly, they have not been shut down but that is likely to change very soon. A closer look into the players of Perverted Justice who hide behind computer screens and numerous pseudonyms - in an attempt to guard their true identities and real motives with a vengeance, reveals that they themselves are guilty of the very thing they claim to protect against. Numerous websites and profiles linked to Perverted Justice members reveal links to sexually explicit images of minors – a felony under both Federal Law and all States law -giving a whole new meaning to “Perverted” Justice.

Other discoveries are that almost without exception: each Perverted Justice member is either an Atheist or a Wiccan/Pagan (giving Wiccans a bad name because theirs is a very peaceful religion).

Many of their websites contain pentagrams and images of witchcraft and demons. Their youtube videos are filled with graphic violence and hate speech and their numerous blogs clearly reveal a dark (if not psychotic) side to most of their members.

“Don’t go posting a cp (child porn) pic somewhere to offend people, only to have your ip (address) logged and have yourself arrested. Learn the ways of staying anonymous online.”
